The best gaming mouse pad for value, in our opinion, is the Steelseries QcK Heavy. That information helped us to filter through hundreds of products and pick out a shortlist of pads to buy, test and review. We started by conducting community research to identify what gamers look for in a mouse pad, depending on the type of game they play. We set ourselves the challenge to find the best gaming mouse pad you can get on the market today. And the type of mouse pad you use can also differ depending on the type of game you play and the sensitivity you use.

Using a mouse pad provides your mouse with the right environment for operation. Mousepads are a fundamental part of your gaming setup. My favorite before this mousepad was the Steelseries Qck Heavy, but this Zowie one just beats it out by perfecting it.I have reviewed gaming mice and mouse pads on YouTube for a number of years, and have been hands on with all pads, with video evidence here. Everything from the thickness, rubber pads, even surface, edge finishes, and no annoying giant logo. I now currently own the Zowie G-SR, which seems just about as perfect as I would want a mouse pad to be. In my opinion it was definitely not worth the price premium and hassle of finding it. I did like their package where they ship it flat without bending it. Whenever mice had contact with it and after moving the mouse on it for a minute, the friction built up tons of charge which shocked everything I touched, including my headphones. it is strange to describe as I've never expected this to be a problem either. It may be an isolated issue, but when I tried it out for a week, it had a critical problem with static electricity. I've tried the Hayate Otsu, and I can't recommend it. You won't go wrong with either, but the Hien is priced much lower and IMO is more value for money.įor reference I tested the Hayate Otsu and Hien on the Zowie FK2 and Logitech G Pro. Get the Hayate Otsu if you want a smoother glide, and the Hien for better stopping power. I know some people in the US ordered them directly from Artisan. Not sure about availability in Germany, but I ordered my pads from Amazon Japan. The Zero is the slowest, I had to increase my sensitivity a little bit, not a bad pad but not exactly my type. The Hayate Otsu is a bit slipperier, but at the same time has just the right amount of control. The main difference I would say is in the overall control. They both offer great initial movement control and stopping power. It feels rough but when you glide your mouse it feels really smooth, the Hayate Otsu is similar but the surface does not feel as rough on your arms. The Zero was designed to be similar to the SteelSeries QcK line up.Īll are very good, but most of my time was spent on the Hien. According to Artisan's website, the Hien soft is the most popular choice in Japan, with the Hayate Otsu soft being the most popular outside of Japan. All are soft except the Zero which was mid. I have the large Hayate Otsu, Hien, and Zero.
